International Election Monitoring - January 28th

The Excelsior Branch Arts & Culture Salon presents a special program on international election monitoring, its impact on foreign affairs, and the dramatic expansion of democracy promotion worldwide. This development has led to a focus on elections, an increasingly critical requirement for governments to attain international legitimacy. Jean Feilmoser has monitored elections for the U.S. Department of State and the United Nations in Kosovo, Bosnia, Slovakia, Russia, Macedonia, Azerbaijan and East Timor. She will present a slide show of her experiences during these elections. Come learn about the election processes in other countries and their challenges for free and fair elections.
