What makes the poet the potent figure is that he is, or was, or ought be, is that
he creates the world to which we turn incessantly… Wallace Stevens, 1942
What poetry inspires you? Do you write your own? For National Poetry Month, the Excelsior Branch Library is asking for your participation in this celebration of the written word by featuring the poems that have inspired the people who live, work or hang out in the Excelsior District.
Submit your own poetry, or a favorite poem or quote from a poem, and it may be featured in a display at Excelsior Branch Library during National Poetry Month. Excelsior Librarians will select a few poems from submissions and post them in the display case during the month of April.
Stop by the Excelsior Branch to pick up a submission form and return it by April 3rd. DEADLINE EXTENDED TO APRIL 9.
For more information about National Poetry Month, check out Poets.org. Celebrate Poem in Your Pocket Day on April 29.
