Protecting Your Privacy Online, Wednesday, October 30, 7pm
Jacob Hoffman-Andrews who works on security issues as a programmer at Twitter will teach a
hands-on session on how to protect your privacy on the Internet with privacy tools including: encrypted Off-The-Record chat using Pidgin or Adium, and anonymous browsing using the Tor Browser Bundle.
We will be installing and using software, so you will get the most out of it if you can bring a laptop. If you can't bring a laptop, you are welcome to come and listen or find a buddy.
This program is part of our One City One Book: San Francisco Reads program. The One City One Book selection for this year is Little Brother by Cory Doctorow. If you haven't read it yet, pick up a copy after the event on Wednesday!

Bataan Legacy multi-media program on Wednesday, October 26, 3:30-5:30pm
Author and playwright, Cecilia Gaerlan, will present a multi-media
program which will combine theatre, film, music, and photographs to
depict the stories of World War II in the Philippines and portraying the
emotional toll of war. She will also read excerpts from her novel and
stage play, In Her Mother’s Image, which is set in the Philippines during World War II.
The highlight of this presentation will be the appearance of Bataan veterans who will speak about their experience during the war.
