Come listen to stories in Chinese and English. Mei will read stories in Mandarin and English and sing songs in Cantonese. Bilingual storytimes will be held every Wednesday at 11 a.m. For ages 3-5.

Chess Club for youth - Saturday, June 28th

Excelsior Branch's Summer Youth Chess Club meets on Saturdays. Kids ages 6-8 can play from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Ages 9+ from 2:30-3:30 p.m. The next meeting of the Chess Club is Saturday, June 28. The Chess Club will meet twice in July, on 7/12 and 7/19, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Wicked Wednesdays Book Club for teens & tweens

Chungking Express
tells loosely interconnected stories about two lovelorn Hong Kong cops. Cop 223, who recently broke up with his girlfriend, becomes obsessed with a mysterious woman in a blonde wig (Brigitte Lin). Meanwhile Cop 663 (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) is also dealing with a breakup. He catches the eye of a free-spirited girl working in a snack bar. Shot using available lighting and found locations, Chungking Express manages to be experimental and accessible at the same time. Directed by Wong Kar-Wai. Rebecca Nile the Bubble Lady - July 3rd

The Bubble Lady will entertain and delight audiences with stories of Bubble Land, and introduce her Bubble Family: Spirit Bubbles, Baby Bubbles, Brother & Sister Bubbles, Momma & Poppa Bubbles. The Bubble Lady asks for volunteers to help her in creating a variety of amusing bubble sculptures. The fun never stops! When one bubble pops there is always another.

Boswick the Clown - June 26th

Boswick the clown will bring his magic and juggling show to Excelsior Branch on Thursday, June 26th. The performance also includes physical comedy, audience participation, fire juggling, lots of "why did the chicken cross the road?" jokes and acrobatic pratfalls. The show starts at 11 a.m. Children of all ages invited. Join the fun!

The Magic of Chin-Chin for teens - June 21

Chin-Chin's magic show is like no other! It's filled with incredible illusions and special messages that make you think (but not too hard). He might even inspire you to laugh.
